Welcome to prix, faux celeb community that has been active on both IJ and GJ for over a year. For those of you that are new to the faux-celeb gaming world, the premise is quite simple: you get to make a play a celebrity, only everything about them is thought up by you. Their credits, their personality, their shenanigans... it's all up to you.
With this privilege comes a lot of responsibility. These celebrities need to be realistic while not completely ripping off an existing celebrity. Be as original as possible. Individuality and uniqueness is key in this community. What will your character be? An actor? Musician? It's up to you. Anything is fair game in this community, whether it be the aforementioned and most popular careers or something along the lines of director, writer, producer, model, reality TV star or even a socialite or Perez Hilton-type blogger! As long as your idea for a career seems somewhat realistic, we mods will be more than willing to consider it.

rules
We think it's safe to say that any one considering applying will know the basic rules: be mature, don't mix IC and OOC, etc. It will not be tolerated. We're all either already or pretty close to being adults, right? Treat others as you want to be treated and keep OOC feelings, well, OOC.
When writing in your journal, keep in mind that you are playing as if your character is an actually celebrity. Third person, first person whatever you're comfortable with is cool with us. Yes, it's PB, but your kid is actually a celebrity writing in a journal. Tell us how they got their start, their birthday, if they have a dog, whatever. But keep it mature, please. One liners DO NOT count as an update. If you are modeling your update after a celebrity gossip blog, news source, etc -- keep in mind that plagiarism is NOT allowed. You're supposed to SOUND like the source, not copy what they are saying word for word and just substituting your character's name.
Drama is cool, but keep it within boundaries please. Don't have it be completely impossible. Major/serious plot lines should be discussed with a mod (life-threatening diseases, cutting, excessive drug use) before beginning. Also, please keep in mind that pregnancies should be played out for the full nine months.
Don't forget to be active on AIM (interaction is key in this community). Then again, if AIM isn't for you, be sure to check out our threading community: jeuderoles. Also, the update limit is TWO WEEKS. We will be checking during each round of adds to make sure you haven't reached the update limit, so keep those journals updated! From rags to riches, look at me, on the cover of a magazine!
Adds and removals are done every Wednesday and Saturday evening (around 9 pm EST). We will give you a warning once your character hits the two week mark, and you have until the next set of adds to update them. The same thing goes for posting introductions into prix.
Simple extensions are fine by us too, as long as they don't get excessive. We understand needing a few days to gather your thoughts without taking a hiatus. When you ask for an extension, you will be given until the next round of adds to update. There is a maximum of TWO extensions that can be given before you must update or you will be removed. You can ask for a hiatus at this point, but please keep in mind that you will be removed after you hit the four week mark unless you can give us a valid reason as to why you haven't updated.
We understand that real life happens. If you need a hiatus, simply comment here and let us know. Any hiatus that ends up going over a month is a tad excessive, however, and we'll remove you once it's been FOUR weeks since your last update. Activity is key. If you can contact us with a valid reason as to why your hiatus has exceeded the limit, we may consider extending it but only if the given circumstances are valid enough.
We'd rather not impose a character limit because we know what it's like to have muses running around in your head with nowhere to put them, but we would also like to keep some sense of variety in the writers of this community. In some circumstances, we will allow a FIFTH or maybe even a sixth character, but please come to the mods if you would like to do this.
You may send movies not on our lists in filmographie for mod approval after which you may add them to your character's credits. You must send a plot summary including title, year, genre, and available characters to filmographie.
When creating a musician, keep in mind that the maximum amount of voices that can be used is THREE to a musician/band. Please do not exceed this limit as it will just cause extra hassle for both yourself and the maintainers of filmographie.
And, of course, the most important rule of all is the have fun. That's what this is all about, right?
disclaimer
None of the members of this community claim to be the characters they are playing or the celebrities that are the faces of their characters. This is just a game, and it's all in fun! If you can't see that, maybe you need glasses!
